Have you insulated your home, put solar panels on your roof, installed a smart meter or even built your own eco home? If so, and live in the Penwith area then West Cornwall Community Renewables (WCCR) would like to hear from you.
Following the success of our recent ‘Power to Penwith’ project we are organising a Green Open Homes event, 22nd – 24th May and are looking for more householders who have made energy and environmental improvements, large or small, who would be willing to share their experience and their homes with other local people interested in installing green home improvements.
You don’t have to be the proud owner of an Grand Designs eco-home to become part of ‘Green Open Homes’ (but please still contact us if you do!) – we are looking for people who have made even the simplest home energy improvements who are happy to share their experiences with others looking to reduce their energy bills and their home’s impact on the environment.
Improvements you may have had done:
• Insulation measures, such as loft insulation, cavity wall insulation or solid wall insulation;
• Biomass or heat pump heating systems;
• Renewable energy systems, such as solar thermal or solar PV;
• Energy efficient glazing;
• Simple, low-cost improvements such as draught-proofing;
• Other low-impact or green home improvements – anything from water saving measures to home charge points for your electric vehicle.We’re interested in people’s homes
Participants will be given the option to open their home for up to 4 half day sessions depending on their availability, so we’d love to hear from anyone who has made green improvements to their home and would be happy to share their experiences with other local people.
WCCR will provide participants with a range of guidance on what to do and information to give out to visitors, as well as organising the events and being there to support home owners on the day.
For a no-commitment chat about being part of the ‘Green Open Homes’ event please contact Rob Pickering on 0800 772 3687 or email email@example.com.
If you would like to volunteer to help with the event then see www.wc-cr.co.uk/opportunities for further details.
